About Me
Greetings traveler! I'm Woody, a software engineer based in Newport Beach, CA.
I feel most energized when building software that reaches users and solves their problems. I plan and measure the effectiveness of those goals with a suite of user behavior analysis tools.
After graduating from Tufts University I spent some time at Cogo Labs, where I sharpened my skills in SQL and Python, writing services to aggregate and tag information for internal analysts. Then, I led a small frontend team at Teikametrics, building a smooth user experience in a fullstack application, running advertising campaigns on Reddit, and acting as Chief Director of Lunch & Learns†.
Now, I'm hacking at Google and working to build Viewcount Analytics to help twitch.tv livestreamers identify engaging content.

- Frontend / Fullstack development building tools for internal data analysts
Software Engineer II @ Teikametrics
Jan 2018 - Present
- Lead front-end developer for mission-critical project to rewrite entire sign-up, login and authentication systems
- Architected and built new analytics page, relying on embedded Mode Analytics, which increased daily page traffic from 75 sessions to 225
- Curated Lunch & Learn series totalling over 70 hours of live presentation for engineering department technical education
- Ran reddit advertising campaigns which achieved cost-per-lead equivalent to traditional channels
- Pioneered and documented an email development and testing technology stack

- Developed and architected event-consumer modeled data ingestion pipeline to production
- Optimized event processing speed by ~25x by removing repeated work and unnecessary data transfer
